Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 30/09/2026
De Kunst van Rouw is an initiative of RetroRouw vzw, located at Schaddekensdries 2, 2890 Puurs-Sint-Amands, Belgium, with company number 1034.699.493.
These terms and conditions apply to activities organized directly by de Kunst van Rouw for which tickets are sold via dekunstvanrouw.be.
De Kunst van Rouw also brings together activities organized by external organizations, partners and other initiatives in its programme. For these activities, the terms and conditions of the respective organizer apply. De Kunst van Rouw is not the contracting organizer for these activities, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
1. De Kunst van Rouw
De Kunst van Rouw brings together art, stories, encounters and different perspectives on grief and loss.
The programme may include exhibitions, lectures, conversations, performances, workshops and other activities.
The organizer carefully puts together the programme, but may be required to modify, reschedule or cancel parts of it.
2. Registrations and tickets
Advance registration is required for some activities.
Tickets for activities organized directly by de Kunst van Rouw are sold via dekunstvanrouw.be.
A registration or ticket is personal, but may be transferred to someone else subject to the conditions of Article 4.
When an activity has a limited number of places, availability applies.
3. Ticket prices
The activities of de Kunst van Rouw are deliberately offered at affordable prices.
Income from ticket sales contributes to the operation of RetroRouw vzw and to making De Kunst van Rouw possible.
The applicable ticket price is stated with the relevant activity and applies at the time of purchase.
4. Cancellation and transfer by the participant
Purchased tickets will not be refunded when a participant decides not to attend, regardless of the reason for cancellation.
Tickets will also not be refunded in the event of a no-show.
If you are unable to attend yourself, you may transfer your ticket to someone else.
A transfer must be requested no later than 24 hours before the start of the activity via:
contact@dekunstvanrouw.be
The organizer may ask you to provide the name and contact details of the new participant.
After this deadline, a transfer can no longer be guaranteed.
5. Cancellation or rescheduling by the organizer
De Kunst van Rouw may cancel or reschedule an activity when circumstances make this necessary.
When an activity is cancelled by the organizer, the purchased ticket will be fully refunded.
When an activity is rescheduled to another date, the participant may attend on the new date or request a refund for the purchased ticket.
In the latter case, the full amount paid for the ticket will be refunded.
6. Changes to the programme
De Kunst van Rouw makes every effort to deliver the announced programme.
However, a speaker, artist, performer, workshop facilitator or other announced participant may be unable to attend due to circumstances beyond their control.
In that case, the organizer may adapt the programme or provide a replacement.
When the activity itself goes ahead, a change to an individual speaker, artist, performer or other participant does not in itself entitle the participant to a refund of the ticket.
However, when the change results in the cancellation or rescheduling of the activity as a whole, the provisions of Article 5 apply.
7. Free activities
A number of activities within the programme of de Kunst van Rouw are free of charge.
When advance registration is requested for a free activity, this is solely to help with organization, estimate the number of participants and, where applicable, reserve places.
During free activities, visitors are given the opportunity to voluntarily support the work of De Kunst van Rouw and RetroRouw vzw, for example via a QR code.
A contribution is entirely voluntary and is not a condition of participation.
8. Participation and age
The activities of de Kunst van Rouw are open to all ages, unless otherwise stated for a specific activity.
Each participant decides for themselves which activities they take part in and what they wish to share, experience or take in during an activity.
We ask all participants to treat themselves, others and the space in which an activity takes place with respect.
The organizer may ask a participant to leave an activity if their behaviour seriously compromises the safety, peace or well-being of others.
9. Grief, loss and personal responsibility
De Kunst van Rouw works around themes such as grief, loss, death, remembrance and farewell.
Lectures, conversations, workshops, artworks and other activities may have an informative, artistic, experiential or connecting character.
Participation in these activities does not replace individual medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal or other professional support.
To the extent permitted by law, the organizer cannot be held responsible for personal interpretations, reactions or consequences arising from participation in an activity.
10. Activities organized by third parties
Not all activities within the programme are organized by de Kunst van Rouw.
When an activity is organized by an external organization, partner, artist or other third party, this is clearly stated with the relevant activity.
For these activities, the terms and conditions, registration conditions, cancellation conditions and other arrangements of the respective organizer apply.
Questions about registration, cancellations or participation in such activities should initially be addressed to the respective organizer.
11. Photos and videos
